Stefan Marx - Allen Street

Stefan Marx works primarily through drawing, a medium he carries fluidly across many surfaces and situations. Beyond paper, his lines appear on record covers, T-shirts, skateboards, posters, and the pages of magazines. His images feel quick and unforced – snapshots of passing thoughts, quiet landscapes, stray phrases, and moments of daily life where the personal and the ordinary meet. 

For Stefan Marx, drawing is a democratic pursuit. His drawings are the work of an individual, but they belong to us all. Drawing is a gift, a message, a postcard. Drawing is as naked and simple, as direct and immediate, as being sad or in love.
